Your Bachelor of Science in Education - Core Subjects EC-6 with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake prepares you with skills needed to help cultivate healthy growth in children. With your Core Subjects EC-6 teacher certification, you'll be well trained to teach in an elementary school classroom. Your coursework will include the study of child and adolescent development, learning theories, curriculum and assessment, and language development for EC-6 content areas. You will also spend extensive time in elementary classrooms completing field-based observations and assignments prior to student teaching.
